CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Little Dragons (Ages 5-7) / COGA Kids (Ages 8-13)
Building champions from the ground up, COGA coaches provide fundamental training in boxing, kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling and grappling. The youth MMA curriculum’s primary objective is to teach students valuable life skills through the discipline of Mixed Martial Arts. Students are motivated to learn and be challenged to continually progress in rank. This core philosophy promotes an excellent work ethic and develops goal setting habits and leadership skills.



Striking 101:
Students will learn proper punching and kicking technique, basic footwork and upper body movement as well as improve core strength and agility. Class is designed for all skill levels and focuses on striking, fundamentals, fitness and fun. Boxing gloves and hand wraps are required. Striking 101 is a non-contact class.

Striking 201:
Students who have shown that they fully understand the basic punching and kicking fundamentals can take our striking 201 classes. This class will go more in depth in all striking aspects. Students will learn Proper defensive techniques as well as review the core fundamentals of striking. Boxing gloves, hand wraps, shin-pads, protective cup and mouth guard are required for this light contact class.

Cardio Kickboxing:
This class focuses primarily on fitness and fun. We incorporate some of our basic striking fundamentals with a high pace cardio work out. Class is designed for all skill levels.

MMA Boot Camp:
The course format allows for people of all fitness levels to participate utilizing MMA drills, TRX suspension training systems, kettle bells, ropes, medicine balls, and kickboxing. This high pace fun class will help you burn calories and get you into the best shape of your life. The coaches will push you to your limit in a fun positive environment to help you achieve your fitness goals.

BRAZILIAN JUI-JITSU:
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a highly effective martial art for men, women, and children. It relies on leverage, timing, and proper technique to overcome larger and stronger opponents. We teach in a safe friendly controlled environment which fosters fun camaraderie and respect. Come join us on the mat! And discover who you are…

SUBMISSION WRESTLING:
The sport of submission wrestling brings together techniques from American Folk style Wrestling, Freestyle Wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo and Sambo. Utilizing partner training, students will engage in light drilling techniques. Students will learn takedowns and take down defense as well as how to control or submit someone on the ground.

Competition Training

The competition training is not a class. This is times designated for the members who are competing in up coming events such as BJJ/grappling tournaments, boxing, kickboxing and MMA fights. These members are invited by the coaching staff to join the team once they feel you understand and can fully execute the fundamentals of MMA.
